A Unique Approach to Marketing

When I joined Chorki in 2021 as Marketing Lead, we were about to launch a VOD platform that would become the biggest in Bangladesh. The challenge? Finding a way to create a buzz in a world still reeling from the effects of COVID-19, where in-person events were out of the question.
During one of my first meetings with CEO Redoan Rony and Digital Business Lead Jabed Sultan Pias, I asked a simple question: "Since we're creating movies, dramas, and docuseries, which service are we replacing or competing with?" The answer? Cinema halls, Television, VCR, VCD - each representing a shift from physical to digital entertainment.
This sparked an idea: what if we sent the artists who contributed (Acted, directed, etc.) to our platform a 𝐕𝐂𝐑 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞 and a personal letter about the launch? It would be a nod to the past, a touch of nostalgia, and a unique way to make an impact 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬.
The team loved the concept. We took it further by 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 each cassette with the artist's photo and wrapping it in packaging that paid homage to the legends of Bangladesh's entertainment industry. The response was phenomenal. All the social media channels lit up as artists shared their special gifts, spreading the word about 𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐑𝐊𝐈'𝐬 𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡.
This experience taught me that sometimes, unconventional ideas can create the most memorable moments, as I always believed that creativity and collaboration are at the heart of successful marketing.
